ABOUT ELEPHANT IMPRESSIONS:
The following works are paintings of the soles of elephant feet. The sole of an elephant foot tells you as much about the elephant’s life and health as a gladiator’s foot did in ancient Rome. The deeper the impressions on the foot, the more the elephant was stuck in standing water and most likely owned by humans. The flatter and smoother the sole of the foot, the more the elephant was free to roam plains and flat lands causing normal and healthy wearing of the foot pad.
